		<description>I'd love the series- Because I deal more with the business side of things  I have a basic understanding of php but most of my experience is limited to editing someone else's examples or open source code.  

I second the GD/GD2/ImageMagik and Pear suggestions too, those both tend to mystify casual coders like myself :)</description>
