Automated Income Streams

November 16th, 2005

There's been quite an increase recently in online income stream sites. These are basically sites that are tailored to a certain subject, and alongside the content, a few targetted adverts are placed in the hope that you, the visitor, will click on them. A good site will get a good google ranking, and a fairly decent stream of visitors. Some of these visitors will inevitable click on your adverts, and you make the money for the clickthrough. That's money that you make for doing nothing apart from setup a site, and then some search engine optimisation/listings.

The thing that's always gotten to me, is that these sites tend to be abundant 'arrows in the quiver' of people who know a fair bit about Search Engine Optimisation. A good example of an AIS site would be Taichi Explained. As you can see, it has a fair amount of relevant information, and links to other taichi sites/resources, along with a few Google Adwords for the adverts. A good site, in my opinion, would hopefully get you around $10 a day - that's about $300 a month for doing not much apart from create a site with some content, and then get it listed.

Something interesting to think about at least! If only I had the time! A couple of other blogs that tend to focus on this almost entirely are:

I'm getting between $30 and $35 a day on average from Adsense.

You don't have to do anything to these AIS sites in order to earn from them - I think that most people expect far too much. It's not a quick solution - these need time to bed in and start earning money. Most of mine have been running for months.

So AIS != quick cash. Which is I think where most people are failing to understand the concept. 3 months is needed at least to be able to pass a judgement on these sites.

    Garrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Thanks for the comments guys. I guess I failed to add that of course, its not a get rich quick scheme, and anyone that can guarantee an income for no work is clearly a nutcase!

I also wanted to mention that Adsense is not the only type of AIS site - this is another common misconception…

AIS can also be any type of "instantly downloadable" product - for example; eBooks, templates, video training material, programs, code etc etc. Basically anything that people can pay for and download without input from the site owner.

A good example is the site I recently sold which was my top AIS earner - this never carried Adsense Ads, but does have 7 or 8 eBooks for sale/download.

So, try not to look at AIS as only Adsense - Adsense is in fact one of the most underperforming AIS's out there. How many clicks does it take to get the equivalent of 1 template sale for example? A lot!

I tried to get people thinking about AIS's other than Adsense in my blog

    Cheers,
    Gary
